the backyard progress

ok...its little by little and much of the progess is hard to notice because it is removal of plants that begin as bulbs under the ground and get very prolific and are quite time consuming to remove. but let's start here first....this garden bed was decomposing railroad ties that leo loved to munch on. we took the cement blocks from the front and put them around the garden bed (next month- the planting of the actual veggies).

this isn't finished yet. it was just mud really w/ some small patches of grass. just bought steppables that will be planted today to go in between the pavers. if you can see the tree in the
back there...the pavers will extend to it...

this is our new fence. we'll have to replace the fence around the whole backyard, but one side at a time. so we did this side first because the one of the dogs next door and leo like to growl and bite the fence at on another. i guess our neighbor's side was even more chewed up. but it was old and grey nasty wood and now its pretty, light cedar.

and this is our place of lovely plants and trees. the wall will eventually have rocks on top that can be sat on for fire pit fun. course the fire pit itself might not happen until next year. but the grass from there to the corner will be large pieces of slate like pavers, then the fire pit, with a pond in the corner there....
so that's it for now. hope to get some ok pics (i'm using rob's phone) of the front here soon and i'll i demolished. :)

quick update

ryenn and i both had birthdays recently and i hope to get the pics developed soon so i can post more at length on that. also we are making headway in our backyard. rob has 1/2 finished replacing the fence to the left (very slowly but surely all the fencing will be replaced) and part of our landscaping is about finished (for the dirt, if not the plants). i hope to post pics of our progress soon.
